Angel is the son of Cristobal E. Salas and Tabita Rios.
Angel has been diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and is undergoing vigorous treatment to fight this deadly disease. Tabita said, “Angel is normally a very energetic kid, so it’s really hard to see him so exhausted and sick. He always stays positive and is usually the one encouraging everyone else.” When Angel was told about the race he said, “Really? For me?”
